A field manual for FrontWars
Platforms: browser, Steam, iOS, Android
Four places to play the same game: a browser tab, an iOS app, an Android app and a Steam build. The portal page prints the platform list; the client prints the language list; the store page prints the date the Steam version arrived.
- TESTEDthe portal page and the client's language menu, read 2026-11-03
- IN-GAMEthe 32 languages in the client's own switcher, quoted
- OFFICIAL ONLYthe portal's rating, release date and platform list; Steam's Early Access date
- NEEDS CHECKwhether a browser account and a Steam account share progress

Two of those lines matter more than the rest. Externally hosted (iframe) means the portal is a frame around the developer's own page, which is why the client's own URL is a thin shell that draws everything on a canvas. And the platform line is the only place that names all four builds at once.
The languages the client actually has
Thirty-two, in its own switcher: English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Bengali, Czech, Danish, German, Esperanto, Spanish, Finnish, French, Galician, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Macedonian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Toki Pona, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese.
The Steam page lists 22 interface languages. Both numbers are right: one is the client's dictionary, the other is a store-listing localisation. We counted the client's because we could see it and click it.
Steam is the later build
The store page puts Early Access at 4 October 2026, four months after the web build's last update at the time of writing, with 147 reviews at 74 % positive. It also says Steam and web share servers, which is the kind of claim that decides whether it is one game or two — and we could not test it, because we played neither.
Practically
Browser on a desktop is the only build this site has played in. Mobile is listed and supported by the portal (a touch-capable canvas), and we did not test it. If you are choosing, choose the browser build for zero install and the Steam build for the replay feature the store page describes — see replays for why that is a real difference.
